Oh man. It’s here. It’s happening, right now! This holiday season, coupled with the election results, is a unique opportunity to demolish all of your hard work, sacrifices and extreme accomplishments. I am so proud of you all. I have had the pleasure of watching and coming along with you on some amazing journeys this year and want to keep the momentum going. This week I bit my tongue A LOT; mostly because I am, as a shock to many of you, an empathetic person. Regardless of how Tuesday worked out for you, I only heard one outcome…indulgence. Either you were up celebrating with too many beers, eating all the Halloween candy, or you were up crying with too many beers and eating all the Halloween candy. Ok, you got me; I was over indulgent as well. That stuff stops NOW. It’s time for a reset. Let’s focus on what we CAN do.
As I have stated before, I have a few “triggers” that keep me moving in the right direction. My favorite one is starting my day with a drink of water. As soon as I wake up, go to the kitchen; fill up the cup and drink. During this drink I remind myself of all the good I want to do today. It immediately gives me a sense of calm and focus. When I skip my drink, and perhaps do anything else, well…let’s just say that doesn’t work.
Most importantly, I’d like to know from you, what is your trigger? What gets you and your day on the right path? When things are going right, and you are firing on all cylinders, what is the common thread? What are you doing every day that keeps you on target? Recently, I’ve taken an informal poll, and these are some of the responses I received.
