March is only a few days away and Spring keeps teasing us with warmer days. Weekend warriors are starting to emerge from their Winter hibernations ready to shed those warmth layers, and Spring Fever is about to go pandemic. It is time to start moving.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve talked to you about making goals, being single-minded in your pursuit of them, and achieving them, so you can help others. How are you doing so far? Are you focused? Do you have a plan of action? Are you making changes to reach your goals?
Are you reading this sitting slumped over your computer or your phone? Are you waiting for tomorrow to make a clean start? Perhaps, next month feels like it will be less hectic. Now think about this…what if it’s not.
I told a client the other day (on her 60th medicine ball toss) that when your muscles get this fatigued, just focus on each repetition at a time. You can’t think about the other 19 other reps you need to do, just focus on each one at a time.
Life and the goals we set for ourselves can feel very much the same way in an emotional or intellectual way. How the hell am I gonna get his all done? Take a step back. Reset. Focus on good form, and focus on one small step at a time. That is the mantra of the Unbreakable:
Relentless. Forward. Progress.
Find the freedom in focussing on what you can do every day. Don’t wait till tomorrow. Just keep moving forward. Over time you’ll see the progress. It’ll happen before you know it.
Remember...this is not your practice life.
